Our Story

Path4Her is a grassroots Community-Based Organization established in 2023 and operational since 2024 in Githurai 45, Kiambu County, Kenya. The organization was founded to respond to the challenges faced by women, young people, refugees and other vulnerable members of the community who have limited access to practical skills, economic opportunities and pathways toward sustainable livelihoods.

Path4Her believes that skills can transform lives. Through practical vocational training, mentorship, entrepreneurship and community-based initiatives, the organization creates opportunities for people to develop skills, build confidence, generate income and become more economically self-reliant.

Since its establishment, Path4Her has grown from an emerging grassroots initiative into a community skills hub providing practical training, particularly in carpentry and creative furniture making, while developing additional programs in areas such as hairdressing and beauty therapy, baking and pastry, digital skills and entrepreneurship.

Path4Her was founded by Isaac Kitheka Mbuku, who brings extensive experience in carpentry, furniture making, construction and vocational training. His experience in practical skills development helped shape Path4Her's approach of combining hands-on training with mentorship, entrepreneurship and exposure to real-world work opportunities.

The name Path4Her reflects the organization's commitment to creating a pathway of opportunity for women and girls - PATH representing a pathway toward opportunity and transformation, 4 representing "for", and HER highlighting the organization's strong commitment to empowering women and girls - while also engaging young men, families and communities in creating sustainable change.
